As I prepare for the Journey, I must shed some of my belongings. This video covers some of what I was thinking and feeling as I approach my house for what may be the final time.

UPDATE: This was not about shedding “some” of my belongings…oh no, not at all! It has been about shedding almost “ALL” of my belongings! Whew…what a shocker!

This has been the most cathartic experience of my life! Three (3) years ago I thought I was preparing to wind down a bit and create a stable, peaceful, “comfortable” life in the autumn and winter of my life! Oh, how wrong I was!

Instead I have been preparing for the Journey of my life…and the Journey of a lifetime! So, I guess life begins at mid-60’s! Huh! who knew?? Certainly not me…until now! But don’t get me wrong! I have been kicking and screaming a lot along this initial part of the journey that has possessed and obsessed my life over the past year or more. It truly broke my heart to part with my beautiful things for nothing or close to nothing! I’m fully aware that we can’t take it with us, but hell, I just wanted to enjoy my “stuff” while I was here. LOL

And my deep genuine love for humanity was very often challenged! Scammers on Craigslist and other sales apps came out of the woodwork in full force, testing my patience and my belief in humanity. And then dealing with unconscious self-serving people who had lots of disposable income but were determined to beat me down to almost nothing for my prized possessions…OMG, what a journey!

However, often the folks who had very little were the most inspiring connections. They wanted to be fair…and never tried to take advantage of my own very challenging situation. And of course the myriad of folks who visited and invested in so many of my awesome beauties, had the most incredibly inspiring stories of overcoming overwhelming tragedies and losses! You will be hearing from many of them over the next 1000 or more days!

Fact is, I’ve learned so much about people…and myself, over this past 18 months! Sometimes not such great feelings were attached to these experiences…but always lots of inner personal growth, expanded tolerance for others, and an experience of inner strength when it came to setting boundaries and saying NO a lot more often.

Life is full of so many twists and turns. And the only way we can flow through it with the least amount of chaos, confusion and angst, and the greatest amount of ease and grace, is to be open and flexible to all necessary adjustments as we navigate our way through this maize.

So now I have a question for you…does any of this resonate with you? Please share how, and why? And share your own personal thoughts about what you have viewed and read. You can read more about what led to this Journey of 1000 Days on our home page as well.

Much Love
